I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters met personally to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's largest financial successes, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
